They should have named this product “The Perfect Spoon,” because to me that’s what it is when it comes to cocktail stirring!I’ve been looking years for a bar spoon that met all my preferences: not too heavy, not to light; spoon and handle made of a single piece, with no joint to corrode; and a smooth, tight twist that doesn’t catch on my fingers as the spoon spins in the mixing glass. Well, this baby is da bomb: good-quality stainless steel and very nicely made. The slender twist flattens out directly to become the shallow spoon, not welded, soldered or brazed. The tapered knob at the top balances the spoon nicely in the hand, and it is attached cleanly and firmly to the top of the handle – fully brazed all the way around, with no collar, pits or groove to capture moisture and eventually corrode.This is the fourth bar spoon I have owned. Two corroded, and the finish flaked off, where the spoons attached to the handles and the handles attached to the knobs. (They were obviously plated, not stainless steel.) One had a spoon and handle made of a single piece of stainless, with a ball attached cleanly at the top, but it the whole spoon was too heavy, and the twist in the handle was way too course to spin properly. I also tried some long-handled iced tea spoons, but they were too small and barely useful as bar ware (though they were great for iced tea).Now I feel like Goldilocks: I finally found one that is just right!
