Norpro Stainless Steel Grapefruit Spoons, Set of 4

These Norpro 1281 Grapefruit Spoons, along with the Norpro 1280 Grapefruit Spoons, are the best of all! I bought these along with the other highest-rated (by customers) grapefruit spoons, the ones by WMF Manaos/Bistro, and they are not even close. The latter just don’t cut very well, they have tiny serrations and cut as poorly as you would expect upon looking at them.But these Norpro 1281, like the Norpro 1280 spoons, are incredibly sharp, with larger TEETH. Cutting with both of them and comparing them head-to-head at the same moment, the Norpro cut through the grapefruit flesh AND pulp MUCH better than the WMF Manaos/Bistro!These Norpro spoons do everything expected of them, and they are much easier and faster vs. the WMF Manaos/Bistro, they just work so much more easily.The Norpro 1281 spoons are very attractive, as are the WMF Manaos/Bistro, and they are strong, as are the WMF, with neither brand bending at all when using them. It is just that these Norpro have much better, bigger teeth and cut so much more easily, without mashing the grapefruit due to any lack of sharpness.Highly recommend! I can think of no negatives whatsoever except that a young child or elderly person– or ANYONE– could very well cut the sides of their mouth, or tongue, by inserting this spoon quickly and haphazardly. One has to be careful when eating with them!As can be determined from reading this review, I love the Norpro 1281 AND the Norpro 1280. They are equally good in all respects. I just SLIGHTLY prefer the shape of the bowl section of these 1281s, a more typical, traditional shape. However, the 1280s might be a hair safer in that the thinner shape of the bowl portion means less likelihood of cutting the sides of one’s mouth. Again, the 1280s and 1281s are equally sharp and thus are both great at digging through the grapefruit flesh and even the pulp.
