From my experience after around two months of use, this dongle is perfect for cars that are Android Auto compatible, but do not allow a wireless Android Auto connection.At first, the dongle felt suspiciously light and cheap. The slim and lightweight build feels cheap, but does make it easier to stow away in the car. It’s also something I just needed to leave plugged in, so I didn’t mind the lackluster build quality.The setup process was relatively straightforward, but did have a few odd glitches. My phone kept prioritizing the car’s pre-existing Bluetooth connection for calls over the connection to the dongle, so it repeatedly failed to connect at first. After manually disconnecting the direct connection to my car for phone calls, I was able to successfully connect to the dongle.After the initial connection, my phone automatically connected to the dongle and Android Auto showed as being connected on my car’s display after around 10-15 seconds. This has been seamless on most days, which has made connecting to Android Auto a lot easier than using a wired connection. In my past experience with wired Android Auto connections, the USB-C cables would wear out every few months from the repeated plugging and unplugging, leading to an unstable connection. Using this dongle and keeping the dongle plugged in instead has been far more stable and removes the need to always plug and unplug the cable.Overall, I’d highly recommend this dongle. The only negative of using this dongle over a wired connection would be the lack of ability to charge your phone if your car only has one USB port. The initial connection glitches only seems to be an issue if unplug and re-plug the dongle, but keeping it plugged in avoids this issue and maintains a stable connection and fast reconnection every time.
