I work at a factory and some areas are quiet while other areas are deafening. Rather than sticking in ear plugs and taking them out over, and over, and over… I bought these earmuffs. Best decision ever! When I walk into the control room I rotate them up so I can talk to the guys; as soon as I walk out, I can put them back on in seconds. This is also more sanitary because I’m not sticking gross foam ear plugs into my head. Install time took about 5 seconds and they seem to be universal: these even fit my “novelty hard hat” (made by MSA, has a camouflage shell).I’ve used these earmuffs in temps down to about -10 deg F, they still work fine. The spring loaded parts seem to be metal and not plastic. After 4 months of constantly flipping them up and down, these muffs are still going strong.Downsides I’ve found: #1. they look dorky. #2 These are a bit heavy; it’s not unreasonable, but you’ll definitively notice the weight after a 10 hr shift. If you work in a noisy, but not deafening area: I would encourage you to pass on these and get a lower rated muff / lighter version… your neck will thank you.
