I was excited to use the new soap dish in our new shower (sad what “excites” an adult sometimes, right? ?). I wish it was offered in silver, but it still coordinates with our bathroom, so it’s fine. The first time I tried to install it, I quickly found I do not have the strength necessary to have it suction to the wall. We’ve had other suction type dishes/hooks & I had no problem installing them. But this one you have to give it some pretty hard force, which my arthritic arms could not give. So I waited a few days until my husband could do it. Even watching him do it, he’s 6’0”, 200lbs and he leaned fairly hard into it to get the whites of the suction dish to lay flat (per the instructions). Maybe ours was abnormally hard to install. I don’t know. Once it was up, it was secure. I love that there’s no curing time. In fact, he took a shower within 5 minutes of putting it up.I like how the dish does not have any sharp edges. The previous one we had, scratched our enamel over time because there were sharp edges in the back of it. This one is smooth. There’s a little bar in the back that holds itself upright against the wall. Secondly, the back of the soap dish can slide left & right where it fits into the suction cup. At first I thought this was a negative. Once I started playing around with what to hang from hooks on the sides, I saw that if you have a heavier object hanging from it, you can slide the soap dish left or right to help it balance so it doesn’t pull so hard on one side of the dish over the other. You can see in my pictures, when my long handled brush hangs from it, I push the dish to the left. When my pouf hangs from it, it can be centered in the middle. Make sure when you install it, you have enough room to slide it to the side you need, depending on what you’re hanging from it!I also like how the soap dish has bars that go in both directions, so that hopefully once my soap gets smaller, it will not fall through the spaces. My only negatives of this dish are how hard you have to push to install it properly & the company name on it. It looks more obnoxious in the product description pictures than in real life. For that I’m grateful. Imho showers do not need to have logos or different brand names on the various shelves & hooks. Now that I see it in person, it doesn’t bother me.All in all, I’m really happy we got this suction soap dish with hooks for our shower. It’s just what we needed! It looks well made & sturdy. If it rusts or trouble arises with it down the road, I will update our review.
